Supporting programs in science and research industry
The International Technology Research Institute, Inc. (dba ITRI, Inc. or ITRI2) is a small business S-corporation chartered in Delaware. It is a spin-off of Loyola University Maryland chartered to provide research services to the Federal Government and other research organizations. It originated in 1989 as a unit of Loyola with about $500,000 per year of grants and contracts. In 2001 it was spun off as a non-profit, and in 2008 it was reorganized as a profit-seeking small business to qualify for Small Business Administration (SBA) programs. Most recently it has been supporting the National Nanotechnology Initiative via reports on environmental health and safety aspects of nanotechnology with a capstone workshop summarizing a series of three workshops, and a brochure version of the results.
